Hi guys

I had 2 Brevs hatch at the weekend and one is eating really well infact he is a little machine. the other has problems shooting his tongue out, it seems to either shoot to the left or straight down when he tries. He is in his own tiny container so that he can be closer to food etc.

He hasnt eaten anything since he was born and now im beginning to get a little worried. Iv tried using tweezers to hold the pin head crickets but he just cant seem to get the little critters.

I need some help and advice, what should I do? has onyone else had this problem?

Most often tongue issues are due to a calcium issue, an injury or an infection...can't really tell which it would be...but hopefully a vet could.
Were the parents healthy?

Get some food in him somehow. let the cricket touch it's mouth and he will open his mouth to put cricket in.

his parents are both fine and had calcium with each feed, vits every 2 weeks.

Iv tried putting crickets by his mouth using tweezers but he just pulls away. i dont know how much longer he will last with having not eaten anything since saturday.

hes far too small to even try to pick up and open his mouth but im running at a loss as to what to do. we have no reptile vets by where i live.

you might need to make a water cricket/calcium puree and feed him with a syringe or med dropper till he builds up more vital nutrients. You could substitute pedialyte if dehydration could be an issue.
