pedro92...you asked..."dear kinyonga.... ricky said he did put something for cham to dig in. so idk why she wont lay eggs"...there could be a number of reasons why she didn't....I'm not a vet so this is coming from what I have read/heard/experienced...(only a vet might be able to give you the answer)...
1)The female may not have found the place suitable in her "opinion"...it might have been too warm or the moisture level not acceptable, etc.
2)The timing might have been off...if she was ready to lay the eggs for a while before the sand was placed in the cage, by the time the sand was there she might have been passed the time she was able to lay them.
4) If a female veiled sees you watching her if she digs (and I forgot to ask if she had even been digging) she will abandon the hole thinking that its not a safe place to lay the eggs.
3) If she has/had MBD she may have not had the "strength" to lay them. Calcium not only plays a part in bone health, but in muscle contractions too.
r1ckyjuk...did she ever dig at all? (I should have asked that in the first post.)
You said..."i gutload the locuste with potato skins, fish flakes, spinich and i dust them with nutrobal calcium"...spinach binds the calcium so I don't use it to gutload the insects with. Acceptable greens/veggies to use include dandelions, kale, collards, endive, escarole, mustard greens, carrots, sweet potatoes, squash, etc. I don't use nubrobal....and I know I have looked it up several times but can't remember what it has in it in the way of calcium, phos., vitamin D3 and preformed vitamin A....maybe you can tell me, please? You should also look at the fish flakes for those 4 things.
You said..."she also eats strawberrys,grapes,qukumba,spinach"...she can eat most of what I said you could give to the insects as well as apples, pears, berries, and melon, etc.
You said..."she dosent seem to be in any stress as she is still verry colorfull and is active around the viv,i realy need to take some pictures so you guys and girls can see her"...its good to hear that she is active and colorful....might not be eggbound then...I know there have been cases of chameleons reabsorbing their eggs....and if their diet is controlled, they may not even lay/produce eggs.
You also said in the previous post..."ive also notice on the bottem of her mouth theres a little lump under the skin"...can't tell you what this is...but the vet should be able to. There are many possibilities.
