Heating times

Have a female and male panther, was just curious what people do for their heat light. We've been informed to not run the heat bulb all day for the female? Is this common and any suggestions for when to run the heat lamp?

The females are kept with a basking temperature of no more than 80F to help them feel less hungry, so that along with a "diet" we keep some female chameleons on, it helps to prevent eggbinding (dystocia) and follicular stasis...and death from reproductive issues.

There's no reason I know of to keep the males as hot as some recommend either.

You do not need to run it all day for either one... Most people run them for 3-5 hours. Similar to how the sun at the hottest part of the day sits... Females are typically kept 78-80 max and males 80-85 max at basking.
