Heathly?

How healthy does Tilly look to you. Being as we're first timers, we just want to make sure everything is in check. She get's regular mistings throughout the day. She has ample space for wandering, 3 real plants and also a few fake ones, canes and vines. She also has a laying bin (just incase) Her paper towels get changed regularly and her urates are perfectly white. She eats locusts, crickets, waxworms as a treat worms and any fruit or veg that we give her during the week. Everything seems fine to us and I'm sure she is very well looked after. But just so we can be 100% happy please look at her cheeky pics =D If you want any pics of her tank or anything else let me know.

She looks to be a big girl-but otherwise healthy. I would make sure you watch her temps and food intake as to not encourage egg/large clutches. She is looking a bit belly heavy, so it is good you have a laying bin in there. Weirdly enough I have only had one female Veiled that showed gravid colors with an infertile clutch.

Hi,

We try to keep the temps relativly low, and only feed 4 - 5 cricets / locusts a day as we read somewhere. It's oodd becasue sometimes her belly looks bit and other times she seems so small. I worry that maybe she does has eggs inside her, because the laying bin has been in there for a while and she doesn't seem to be going anywhere near it. :-(

Hi Julirs,

I uploaded another pic, now she is stretched out as it was hard to snap her lol. Maybe it was the engle of this pic before or do you think her belly still looks big?

Ok well her colours have only just started coming out this week...we will just have to keep her laying bin in there and see what happens. It's not like we can force her to lay eggs :-(

Juli is right. She does look good and if you have a laying bin in there she should let you know when she is ready. You will want to take the bin out here and there to make sure it is still at the right moisture level to hold a tunnel if she does want to dig or after you see signs of her scratching around in it make sure it is at the right level. I would also suggest switching her food intake from 4-5 feeders every day to 4-6 every other day or somewhere around that (3 everyday).

I'm a little worried that the laying bin isn't big enough. Now the tank we have is quite big for her size, but with the plants there isn't an awful lot of room for a laying bin. We are using a large ice cream container which is about 7 1/2 x 6 x 4 and Tilly is about 6 months so she isn't fully grown yet. Do we need to replace the bin for something a little bigger.

Aww! She's looking great! Looks about the same size as Amy (I think they are roughly the same age). Amy has been getting her colours over the last week too. They look amazing, don't they?! It's lovely to look in the cage and see colour on her instead of plain green!:D
