Heat Bulb

So my chameleon's heat bulb went out today. I immediately jumped in the car and went to Home Depot. They didn't have the exact bulb I was using, but they did have a 60W 120V blue plant light bulb. Will this be ok?

Is this bulb for daytime heating? or are you using it for nighttime heat?

Night lights should not be used as they produce unneeded light which can disturb your cham's sleep cycle. If it is for night time heat, invest in a ceramic heater.

If it is for daylight heating, and your dome is rated to handle that bulb, AND it produces heat, then yes it should be fine. I use outdoor floodlight bulbs to heat my tegu's and my cham . they produce the same exact lighting as a " reptile" bulb, but do not explode when accidentally misted.

It's for daytime heating. I just didn't know if they needed a special bulb or anything.
