Heat bulb vs. Household bulb

The heat bulb I had for my Jackson's enclosure burned out yesterday so I just replaced it with a regular 100 watt household bulb.
The temperatures look good and I know a lot of people use regular bulbs but I want to know if there is any real difference between the two bulbs.

some folks claim the household bulbs cause eye problems but I've never experienced this problem, I tend to run both if one of my zoomed bulbs burn out I'll use a household one til I get a replacement. I run zoomed bulbs because they offer a 25 watt spot bulb and my wife does business with one of their reps.

I think the eye issues are more associated with the coil bulbs, but the normal incandescent bulbs are more than fine. They're all I've ever used for heat spots in all the time I've ever had reptiles. There's no benefit difference between them and a reptile-brand bulb, except price. Only UVB bulbs really matter in that regard.

eye issues were related to earlier cfl, however that has been resolved.
