Head scratching?

Not sure if this is the right place to ask this, this is my first post, but my 4-5 month old veiled has been scratching his head on branches in the cage for a couple days now. It's not very frequent but I've seen it a few times. Is it possible that he's just going to shed soon or could there be an issue?

It's possibly and probably an upcoming shed... You should try to increase misting so it will go off easier.
They will also scratch against branches if they have something in their eye, increased misting will also help with that.

How often would you suggest misting? I see a lot of posts saying 2 times a day but I do it whenever I see that the humidity is down or when it's looking dry in there. (Usually about 4 times a day).

Assuming it's a veiled 3x a day 3-4 minutes at a time should be sufficient, a bit more is better especially during sheds.
