That way if it is a husbandry issue people can make suggestions.
Her tongue muscle is probably hurting, the only thing u can do at this moment is prepare for a cup feeding ,try let her heal her tongue just to see if she can use it later on ,if the problems still exist,u might want to bring her to a vet for a check up since it might not be fully heal depending on what is the damage inside that tongue muscle, she might need to be cup feeding for a long while to get the feeders in her mouth .My chameleon is around 7 months and i have been feeding her small super worms and crickets but recetly she has to get really close to her food when she eats it like her tounge doesnt fully extend like it did when she was younger.. what should i do?
Okay,
I have a 7 month female veiled chameleon. Ive had her for 5 months.
I try to handle her once every other day sometimes i miss out bc i work late and when i get home shes already asleep (timer)
I usually feed her crickets on the occasion small super worms and i dust both with calcium powder and load the crickets with food and the fluckers jelly looking stuff
Her droppings have normal consistency and has a pretty good white part
Her cage is a 19×19×24 glass cage with one screen side. I know about ventilation issues so i leave the door open when im at home
I have 2 live plants in her cage that ate on the safe list i just cant rmemeber the name
I have a daytime heat light and a blue uvb bulb and i have an automatic timer from 8 am to 8 pm at her normal basking spot the temp is at 75 which i have a thermometer at that level. The humidity is around 70. Since im gone alot i have an automatic mister that sprays every hour and when i wake up and get home i mist the cage.
At night the temp never gets below 60 bc i live in south texas. Shes near a fan bc my room is 10×11 feet and hve a fan in the center but not near and a/c vents
