not sure of its organic soil or not but i really need to get some for my plants .. they still are in the original soil they came in . the soil i just bought says 100 percent organic matter ? is that ok or no ?
Sounds good, but you'll want to check to make sure that there are no fertilizers in it.
I also find that organic potting mix is really dense.... I found this out the hard way when one of my scheffleras got really bad root rot. You might find that the soil doesn't drain well - if that's the case, mix it with some sand or fine gravel, especially near the bottom of the pot, so things can drain properly, and the roots of the plants don't get smothered.
You definitely want to make sure there isn’t fertilizer in the pot, this is especially true for hanging plants. I have seen one of my boys sit under the hanging pothos and drink the drops coming from the bottom of the pot.
Agreed with the above, the word organic gets tossed around a lot. There are organic fertillizers too. To be safe I would get some river rock and cover the soil but make sure the rocks/pebbles are big and heavy enough that your cham would have no chance of snatching and eating them.
Or if your cham isn't a curious biter you could cover the top of the pot the plant is in with some kind of thin nylon but cut a hole in the centre for the shoot
