Happy Hatch Day little brev!

Well, I was having a hard time sleeping last night, and I was cleaning up a bit, and I decided to check on the R. brevicaudatus eggs since I haven't checked up on them for about two weeks. I'm sure glad that I looked in on them because there was a baby sticking its little head out into the bit world. (This was at 3 a.m.)

I went and checked on the eggs again around 11 a.m. and out was a little baby, sitting on an egg. Here is a few photos of the baby that has hatched! Baby number two should be out by the time I go to work this evening. :)

There will be more photos as the other 8 hatch out! Enjoy. :)

Thank you! I should have two more out by the time I leave for work tonight. It's always an exciting experience seeing them hatch out! This was a surprise clutch, and was completely unexpected. I'm sure glad they were good eggs though. :)

Baby number 3 technically to pip is starting to come out of the egg. It actually started to cut through the egg about a half hour ago, I even got to witness it cut the little "x" and push it's nose through the egg. This little one isn't wasting any time today! Apparently it wants to be a 2013 baby. ;)

Baby Number 1: Ludwig

Someone named him Ludwig, and it's sticking. Not sure as of sex right now, but we can determine that later. Such a little stink eye right out of the egg.

5 out 4 left.

Well, after a long hectic, stressful day, I got home from work to find two more tiny little pygmy chameleons roaming about, and one tipped over playing dead.

There are a total of 5 babies, and I am waiting on the last four to hatch. I will get single photos of each chameleon tomorrow.

Thank you, they are all doing great so far. I'll post some updated pictures when they are all out of the egg and running around.

Thank you.

A quick morning update - two more have their heads poked through, and there is one sweating. So one left to start sweating and poke through and I'll be done hatching these eggs out. :)

Well, here is the final update of the eggs hatching! :) All 9 have hatched out and are healthy, cleaning out their eyes and lapping up water from the leaves in their baby enclosures.

To start off, here is the first 5 that has hatched out on Monday, December 30, 2013.

Today I woke up to find two babies that had already hatched out. The last 5 babies hatched out Tuesday, December 31, 2012.

Today around 1 PM the 8th baby hatched out. As soon as I got her out of the incubating container, s/he played dead. I put him/her into the baby set up with the other babies that have hatched out today, and it immediately started to roll around in the water.

Last but not least! At 3:29 PM, the last baby made its way into the world.

I will post updates in a week or so to let everyone know how they are doing and how to prepare baby enclosures for pygmy chameleons. Thank you to everyone who followed this thread, and Happy New Years!

Thank you! I got the first group that hatched out yesterday to start eating. A few weren't interested, but one for sure went after a few of them. :)

That is very cool! Congrats on getting so many hatchlings! How did you come to have so many eggs laid at the same time? Are these all from a single female?

Surprisingly they are all from the same WC mother. I'm not sure which female laid the eggs either, neither of the two I had showed any signs of being gravid as well.

The most I got from any of our WC females was 4. She must be a very healthy brev by the looks of the babies. They look much bigger than the ones we have hatched out.
