handling baby help

so ive got an ambilobe about 5 months old now had him about 2 of those ... my issue is the little guy is scared to death of me ... i try to get near him and he runs ( i try about once a day ) ... no puffing up or gaping just a color change and hes gone .. im just worried that hell be turned of to handling completely if i dont figure something out

suggestions welcomed .... solution wold be fantastic

also would like to know how big my little guy should be by now dob(1/15/14)
seen pics of others about his age and hes nowhere near the size of what ive seen ( altho he is growing )

are you hand feeding him? i give my boy who is very grumpy towards me crickets that free roam and once a day i hand feed him 1-3 waxworms so he gets used to my hand in his cage, you may want to try just leaving your hand in his site and not moving it so he can get used to it first. If he starts to puff up and hiss or try to bite your try not to move your hand because it gives them positive feedback for bad behavior (ive been trying not to flinch when my 9 month old starts trying to bite me, i just leave my hand there for a while until he calms down then scooch a little bit closer) so far i have been able to get him out myself once which i was very proud of lol so maybe give that a try?
