Gravid or not?

I put my male panther together with my one year old female on the 18th of last month. They mated 3 times within a couple day period, after about a week she rejected the male and began to show gravid colors and still is a dark almost black and bright pink pastern. I have tried to keep her feedings at a minimal b/c I want a small clutch being her first time. I weighed her a few days after being mated and she weighed 60.1 grams, 26 days after mating she is only 70 grams. Her food intake has decreased over the last 7-10 days but I'm skeptical on whether she is truly gravid or not only gaining about 10 grams. Any opinion, its now 26 days since her first time with my male?

I agree with davider unless you get an xray there is no sure way to tell they are all so diferent. you just have to learn each ones traits. Just make sure you have that layin bin ready. :)

The time to lower the feeding so the clutch will be small is not after they are mated IMHO. Its hard to explain when to do it if the female hasn't already produced eggs..but...when a female lays her eggs, she should be fed well for a couple of days after to help her recover from the egglaying. More follicles will start growing then....so at this point it seems that controlling the food limits the number of them that will grow. Once she is further along in her cycle and mated, you want the eggs to grow well so that healthy babies will be produced without draining the female completley...so you don't control the food at that time IMHO.
