Gravid colors?

I woke up this morning and Kali was more pink and peach than usual.Since she is almost 6 months I already have a laying bin in her cage and she has not been restless, seeking or digging in it at all and she is still eating. I felt her abdomen and did not really feel anything egg like. I know a change to peach or pink colors can signify being gravid and I just want to make sure I'm not missing those signs.

So are these gravid colors?

Gravid colors are not pink. Gravid coloration she will be very dark/black. Some female when gravid will have a black color all the time, others only when shown a male.

Your female doesn't look gravid or receptive. Looks like a typical female starting to mature.

I attached a picture of one of my females about 15 minutes after breeding. She is showing gravid coloration.

Pink or peach colors actually mean that she is receptive. This is the time when you should start to watch how much she eats and drop her basking temp a few degrees to slow the production of eggs, unless you want her to produce eggs (though at 6 months I would not advise it).

It sounds like your little girl is simply becoming a little woman.

Ah, that is what my confusion was, that she turns those colors when she was receptive.
I've seen varied recommendations for a female basking temperature to reduce egg production. She has a 40w bulb and her basking spot usually gets no higher than 85. Should it be lower than that in your opinion?

85 should be fine for her. I would not go much lower than that, but it should be a good temp to keep her healthy, yet slow egg production.
