So today I've got $76 to go get some of the supplies i need for the chameleon I am going to get. I would be very happy with any suggestions on how i could most wisely spend this money. i already have the cage by the way.

Definitely try to get as little as you can from a pet store. The only products you need that are really reptile-specific are your supplements (calcium/vitamins), your UVB light, and the cage.

Everything else (like basking bulbs, light fixtures, etc.) you can get at any Walmart, Home Depot, or Lowe's. Your basking bulb can be a normal incandescent or halogen light from any of those stores, just depends on the wattage you need. You can also get a thermometere/hydrometer from these places for less than at pet stores.

Cage funishings (like plants) you can get from a small, local nursery for less than at a Home Depot, for example. Usually the plants are in better shape and are more reasonably priced. And things like branches you can cut for free from outside, instead of spending money on overpriced, fake vines.

Also, look for everything online. Usually you can get things like UVB bulbs online for less than at a pet store. Mine would be $50 at a store but I get them for about $24 on Amazon.com.

Hope that helps!
