I just recently purchased a veild chameleon, I got a glass aquarium from my brother in law it is 48"x24"x30" nice size tank. I purchased all the stuff I need for it (vine's, plants, lights ect.) to find out that it's the worst thing I could use for a chameleon. what are your thoughts on this subject? he seems to like it and I clean it out very good every two weeks at least. I see no mold when I clean it and I have a great set. what do you think?

No no no.
They don't provide enough ventilation.
It's hard to regulate temperature.
It will never provide enough height for them.
Stagnant air.

Just no.

For now I would recommend putting the cage vertically and put the lights vertical on the open side of the screen. It helps to regulate heat and air flow. That is until you get a screen cage. LLLreptile.com has them for a good price and Amazon.com has them for really cheap prices if you look at the right time, and also give out free shipping sometimes.

Good luck

They can be used succsefully with young chams. I would reccomend a screen cage in the near future.
Placing it on end can work but remember the UVB cannot pass through glass, so you will have to make adjustments to how you light it.
Welcome to the forums by the way and dont be affraid to ask any question, we were all new once. :)

That bad eh! I have a ceiling fan close to right above the tank that I leave on most of the time and my temperature's are perfect. I guess it will have todo for now untill i find a more permanent habitat for the little guy. Thanks for the info.

Just noticed you are in Canada, not too far. Feel free to PM if you have any questions for places to get stuff up here
