Getting wires/probes/drip lines through screen

I need suggestions on how to get wires/probes and drip lines through screens cages.

I am just loathe to cut up the screens of my new cages.

I have a variety of sized rubber grommets and a couple of "Cord Access Ports" by Zilla. The ports look like this:

One of my humidity probes is a bit more than a half inch by a half inch--too big to just poke a hole through the screen.

Thanks.

For the really big probe, can you undo a few of the screws, put the probe in, and put the screws back with the wire in between? Or feed it in through the bottom, where you can make a bigger hole, and cover it with screen or a potted plant? I don't know how long your lead is, or if there's already an animal in your cage.

Through the bottom--do I feel stupid! I just spent $25 on two "Cord Access Ports" and I just could have fed it up through the bottom. Something about money and a fool being soon parted.....

Don't feel bad, at all. If you don't take them back to the store, I'm sure you'll use them somewhere else. :) Sometimes I use little rubber squeeze gommets, but I think your probe is too big for that.
I have an all living things temp/hygrometer (knock off of a zilla) with a probe about that size. What stinks is that it's a hard wired cable. It'd be a lot easier to thread through a hole if they could come loose from the display. It works fine with exoterras and zoo med glass vivs, though. They have the sliding access ports in the top. :)

Yes, I have the Zilla temp/hygrometer and it is all hardwired, too. A grommet isn't going to work well. I'm a bit afraid to cut holes in the Reptibreeze screens because I will probably change out my cages AGAIN and use them for outdoor cages. I fear the plug to the port will somehow come out without my noticing and one of my chameleons will have a walk about on the deck and I have a few animals who would happily play with/kill/eat a chameleon.

Right now I have things just hanging in the cage, and just move the units out of the way when I hand mist. Still waiting for my AquaZamp to be shipped....

Have you seen the new Dragonstrand ledges ? I'm not sure what sizes I need for my cages but as soon as I figure it out I want to get some- My cages aren't regular sized - It makes setting up a reptibreeze as easy as a DS breeders-
with the raindome you will not have to make cuts for the lines at least-

Threaded lamp pipe with nuts and rubber washers on each side of the screen works. I've also used brass grommets like you see on tarps.

Lately, here's how I do my pass through. I use the plastic lid from the totes and make washers for each side of the screen.

Perfect topic. I just did a test run of the mister and now need to pick out my temp/hydro gauge. I was wondering the same thing on how to get the probes through the screen. I really don't want to cut holes in it. But my cage is so different.
