Genetic Traits Passed Down

I am looking for opinions on traits passed down by Sire and Dam. If you have a Sire that comes from great lines that is smaller than standard male, do you think this is a trait that will be passed to an entire clutch? I see many posts relating to percentage of female vs male influence on traits of offspring. Thoughts?

I had a clutch of sambavas whose parents were tiny (vet checked several times to Be sure of health.) The babies were definitely slow growers. Father was 115 grams, and mother was 40-ish grams at well over 2 years old.

Further explaination: I am torn here. I have a beautiful Kammers Nosy Be male (Sire: Sinatra) with epic coloration. He is beautiful, and with his mating fire-up has a super vibrant face and outstanding electric blue body flare. Compared to all of my others, he is on the small side and is a very light eater, I have tried everything, but he just is. I really want to pass his color traits and qualities of his line, but am worried that his individual genetics will pass the negative traits. I have never run into this dilemma. Thoughts??

Small isn't always bad. For all we know, the small ones might live longer on average! It's up to you. I deliberately bred two tiny adults and I got a little criticism for it, but other breeders encouraged me to do so as well. It's a choice. You just have to make it.

Amazingly, the female gained a TON of weight after she laid her clutch and never laid a second clutch. :) The male gained another 10 grams after too.

In my opinion nosy be are usually one of the smaller panthers anyway. I have a "Sinatra" female and she is def smaller then my other females.
