The neat looking carpet chameleon. I am debating if I should add furcifer lateralis l. to my collection of panthers and veileds. My wife keeps asking me to get a male / female pair to add to the collection and I have not done so yet. She says they are "cute" . I have done a lot of research on this forum and elsewhere and cant decide if best to stick with CB or WC. CB average about $100 more, and I do not have to worry so much about parasites, etc. I saw some on Kingsnake that were WC and treated, however I can't decide if these are a safe addition or not. Any imput on these neat looking chameleons? - Thanks everyone.

Actually you can find CBs for 100-150, you just need to shop around.

As with just about every thing else..if you can find CBs get CBs.

Who cares if it's a good idea to get some carpets or not.. The wife has kinda spoken here. LOL

I have 2 WC from Chad n Darci. They are doing great and havent had a prob. with them yet.
I plan on getting 2.2 from a forum member when her eggs hatch out and they are a few months old.
Carpets are really cool to have and have different, IMO, personalities then the Panthers or Veileds........

Carpets are awesome - plain and simple. The only drawback is their life span. I have CB's and WC's and I much prefer the CB. I think the color in the CB's are better and they will have better overall health. Yes, you are going to pay a little more money for them, but they are worth every penny. (and Chad/Darci, if you're reading this - Isabelle and Ian's eggs are doing fabulous!)

....and yes, please obey the wife. I'm sure she knows what's best.

lol, your right I should obey the wife. Thanks for the advice! From the sounds of it I should stick w/ CB. Also, too bad they do not live longer, What is the longest yours have lived?

I agree - go get them! I want to have Carpet chams myself one day - they are so cool looking!

Life span is 2.5/3 years.

I have about 10+ eggs cooking and more on the way if anyone wants to wait a few more months for them...

Agreed. The boss has spoken. This is a "kill many birds with one stone moment". No brainer. She will "love you long time", or at least tolerate your hobby fetishes , for a spell longer if you add a couple of these cuties. Keep them cooler is all. Good luck.

Right on Jim you have a good point, I can at least keep up the hobby w/ no complaints from her! Also, my ambilobes from you guys have amazing colors, they are true champions for sure. Thanks, for your help.
