Hi!
I´ve been searching like a maniac for answers to these questions but not found anything. Might just been blind but what the heck, its late

1. Have I understand this right, When the flies have laid their "eggs" should I remove the adults from the cup and place them in another to let the maggots to hatch by them self?

2. Is the fruit fly media enough of food for them or should I like put some fruit in there aswell?

3. Im about to buy 4 cups of flies. (No idea how many in each) I will probably feed one of the cups of to my baby cham for a couple of days. With the three remaining, Should they be alive long enough to survive until I´ve fed of the first cup?

Thanks!

You do not need to remove the adults, some move some of the adults into a new cup of food to create a new culture.

The food is all they need, adding fruit will create mold which will kill the culture.

If you are buying 4 cups, order 2 producing cups (older) and 2 cups that just have fruit flies laying eggs in them. You will have flies for 1-2 months that way.

If you buy the fruit fly cultures at Petco/Petsmart with the blue food, they are poor quality…

I don't know where you live, but Mantisplace.com is in Central USA, and Rebecca has several different types of FF available.

Are you sure you need 4 cups at once?
