Pretty cool. I can't remember seeing one before. He was "wingless" before this molt?

Isnt it cool? You can tell which large nymphs are male by their wing 'buds.' The males have longer wing buds as large nymphs and sub adults so you can easily sex them. Its amazing how such large wings can come out of tiny little wing buds.

It is pretty neat. I'm actually embarrassed and disgusted by this pic! Time to clean the dub bin pretty soon... :eek:
 
how long til they start to show their wings? i have a colony and they all typically look the same.. hoping for them to breed eventually
 
They get their full wings on the last molt. Maybe 5-6 molts into their life? Pure speculation. I can't recall exactly... :/
 
that dirty bin is why i hot glue my egg crates together and stack them on their side vs laying them down.

Most of the poop etc... falls to the bottom and less on the egg crates.

I agree with your statement. I got lazy on the last clean up. That'll learn me... :rolleyes:
