I was considering making a part of my apartment into a cage free roaming area for Orion (my ambilobe).
Any tips or ideas? Pics of what anyone else has done?
How do you feed? Cup?
Keeping the cham from reaching the lights?

thanks!

Just make sure you use a light that can broadcast the correct amount of UV to get to the animal as needed.

And also heat!

Cheers!

I love free ranging! Keeping the chams away from the lights is easy...hang them from the ceiling and run the cord across the ceiling for some distance so there is no pathway to them from the cham's trees.

I used a plastic shoebox hanging in the trees by wire to hold feeders. The chams could climb down to the rim of the box and hunt from there. Also, kept a bit of fresh gutload in the box so the bugs could keep themselves full. Remove the box and uneaten bugs at night.

If you have trouble finding large enough trees, you can fill in with 1 or 2 of those fake Ficus trees and connect them together with natural barked branches. Make a sort of forest clump and set the whole thing on a tarp to protect floors.
