Free range tree

Wanted to get Wilfred a sturdy tree to free range in with nice stable branches. Any suggestions, i was thinking a Brown Turkey Fig, would this be suitable?

I have found a really good deal on one of these trees and just wanted to make sure it's not toxic. It does bear fruit.

I'm guessing being part of the ficus family it's ok...anyone?

It's not on the safe plant list.

Just because some species are okay does not mean they all are....

on the other hand, many ficus are indeed safe.


Home Depot carries many large, cheap plants for this purpose...

Ficus is one. Schefflera another and Hibiscus a third

I think by now,most of you may know how i feel about using the schefflera...i love them. Very sturdy, hold up well to excess water from spraying and dripping, an abundance of leaves to hold moisture and for drinking from, and lots of places for your cham to hide in. It is totally your call which safe plant you decide to use. Best of Luck!
