Found Earth Worms

I was cleaning out Herbies cage today and noticed a very small worm on the bottom. I suspected it was an earth worm but decided to kill it anyway. So I sprayed it with some mite killer and parasite spray. Then it went crazy and died. When I went to repot the plants, I found bigger earthworms. I have no idea where they came from. Should I take them out anyway?

no its not pesticides. I used, reptile releif mite and parasite spray. The bottle says you can spray directly on the reptile, but I wouldn't risk that. I just sprayed it on the cage floor, wiped it up, then cleaned with soap and water.

I don't think eartworms can couse any damage...they can be aboundant in organic rich soils...and I am not sure that something that makes an eartworm die in pain wouldn't effect a chameleon...better avoid any spraying and manually remove the worms...

Is there any harm that can come if a chameleon eats an earthworm??? Just wondering, since I have in the past found tons of earthworms in my yard. I never fed them to my chams, but I was just curious.

Bear in mind that earthworms that you collect from your garden could be carrying parasites (as could any WC bug for that matter). So if you feed them to your cham, monitor closely for any signs of a parasite infestation (lack of appetite, weight loss, overly smelly droppings, runny stools).

Also, earthworms aren't very nutritious insects, because their body consists mainly of water, and they eat soil which isn't particularly nutrient-rich.
