You will need to provide her with a proper screen cage. Which is more vertical than horzontal. She will need a uvb flourescent bulb/Reptiglo 5.0 is the brand and model most on here use. A dome fixture and a normal incandescent bulb for heat. Many vines and branches for her to climb around on. A cpl of live plants for cover and humidity in the cage. Most use pothos, hibiscus, ficus, schefflerra. You will need to provide her with feeders: crickets, dubia roaches, horn worms, silk worms, super worms, blue bottle flies, grasshoppers, etc... You will need to dust her feeders with vit and mineral dust. She will need three diff types: 1. calcium without D3 (Used at most feedings) 2. Calcium with D3 (Used 2x a month) 3. Multivitamin Dust: (Used 1-2x per month) You will also need a dripper for watering and a spray bottle. You will need to spray down her cage at least 2x a day heavily so she can drink of the plants. Chams DO NOT DRINK FROM WATER BOWLS OR WATERFALLS. So they are a waste of time and harbor bacteria.

Wow allot of people are just finding chameleons these days. She's a beautiful female veiled. I have two veileds Luie & Camille. First she may belong to someone in your area and she just got away which happens sometimes. If you can't find her owner we can certainly help you with everything that you need to know to keep her.

The first link below will tell you everything that you will need and a link with a picture and where you can buy it. I do believe it's a girl so the second link it to eggs laying and the laying bin you'll need for a female.

Welcome to the forums and let us know if you have any other questions.

Where are all the wild veileds coming from! Madness!!! Are you in Cali?
Cool find. Hope you do well with her. Goodluck!

I live in california and thanks to everyone who took the time to explain things to me. I will be going out and getting her a light and a misting or drip system.

how do you make a laying bin

I took this right from the 2nd link in post #4 and the post right above #8.

By putting a smaller container (12" x 12"deep x 8"wide) of washed playsand in the cage for the female to dig in so that you don't miss the often subtle indications that she is ready to lay eggs. Once she starts digging in this container, then you can move her to the larger one.

For a regular laying bin I would not use anything smaller than a 12X12X12 and a 14X14X14 or a 16X16X16 would be even better.

If you live near Oceanside or Escondido, there's a great store named LLLreptile that is awesome. If you live near Orange County, I live in the area too and I might be able to lend some assistance.

Cali peps get your flashlights and buckets.
Theres a population of veileds somewhere down south.
Theres been to many found recently for there not to be one in my opinion.
Seems they prefer backyards though.
The artifical landscapes probably suit them better the CA's natural landscape.
Somebody start the HUNT!!!

I agree with James, seems to me like there is a wild population of veileds, now.
With as many "help my chameleon escaped when I wasn't watching him like I should have been" threads, it does not surprise me.

I uhhh lost my Parsons. It has uhhh skin, and its kind of big but kind of small and a tail with two eyeballs, if you find it please return him/her to me

Well if it is, Elisa will probably come in to say whether or not she picked up the chameleon in the other thread.

Oh, and Caydensmommy, just to let you know if you save a picture off of facebook to reupload it to the internet, make sure you change the file name, otherwise people can find you on facebook with that file name.
