“this fungus is difficult to identify on culture as it may be mistaken for Trichophyton, Geotrichum, Malbranchea and Trichosporon. Therefore, it is important to inform the lab of any suspicion of Chrysosporium infection when submitting a biopsy for culture.”…this is quite true…in the beginning, with my Parson’s and Lateralis, it was thought to be, first of all, Trichophyton then Geotrichum, if my memory serves me right. And finally became Nannizziopsis vriesii.
