For those of you with wooden enclosures...

Hey, so I am going to be building a new enclosure soon, cabinet style. Obviously the wood needs treated to handle the constant moisture without rotting or warping.

What are some products you use to treat the wood and seal it?

Outdoor polyvarathane or polyurethane will work. You'll want outdoor as the enclosure will be exposed to constaint moisture and heat.

Yep, a low VOC Verathane is what I used.

I used 2 coats of butchers block sealent,it's food grade safe when dried,so far since July it's held up well

I'm not 100% sure on this so you would prob want to look into it a little before deciding to use it but somewhere I read boat or marine wax. I know nothing about the stuff, but it will obviously hold up with all the misting & such.
