query; How do i keep silk worms alive as long as possible with the least amount of mulberry chow? My crew is not burning thru them as fast as estimated so i needs to "pause" the worms. Can i just keep them at 65-68 and do carrots one day and mullberry the next day? Or maybe 65-68 and feed every 3 days?

I managed to keep the horn worms alive on bug burger and 65-68 for 3 weeks after they ran out of chow, but i dont think silkies eat bug burger. They are munching on the food processed carrots pretty good.

You can withhold food for a day at a time to try to slow them down. You might also be able to get them to eat greens such as dandelion greens.

John at Coastal Silkworms told me they can go for up to a week without food. Not that it is recomended but they will not die if not fed for awhile. I feed mine the chow about every other day or so when I want to slow them down or am running low on chow. Sandrachameleon says dandelion leaves and shaved carrots. They cannot be sustained on this though I don't believe, it is more a fill in for the mulbery.

They are nibbling on chopped up hibiscus leaves. They look like they are as enthusiastic about it as a 3 year old and a green bean, but they are nibbling.

You can fridge them to slow down their growing and eating proces.. But do not do this for more than 1 consecutive day.
