Hey everyone i'm just about to step foot into the chameleon world for the first time in a month or so. and im trying to get the cage setup and ready for the arrival of my male veiled.

Would a fogger work to keep up humidity or should I spend the money to get a mistking?
And how often do I need to do a thorough cleaning of the whole cage?
Thanks

Spend your money on a mistking and a few live plants. That should keep your humidity fine for a veiled. As with any new owner, you'll want to spend a good amount of time finding the best solution for you and your cham!

As bigcappa said, definitely spend the money for the mistking. They're fantastic and if you ever want to get more chameleons (which you probably will lol) you can add more nozzles. Live plants will help with the humidity for sure, just make sure they're 'safe' plants as some veiled's will eat them.

I usually spot clean whenever I see poop in the cage and do a more thorough wiping when I let them out to free range.

Mistking for sure. You will not regret it at all. I spot clean every day to every other day. Then I "heavy duty" clean every month to month and a half.

Do they make a mess or os it pretty well contained. I plan on having either papertowels on the bottom or just leave it bare? Any recommendations?
