do some reading here: http://www.uvguide.co.uk/fluorescenttubes.htm

I actually need to replace mine, I'm just wondering what everyone likes/suggests. the last few years I've been going back and forth between reptisun 5.0 and reptiglo 5.0....but now i guess each is available in 10.0.......what do you guys prefer???

Howdy,

For standard aluminum fly screen enclosures, most keepers rely on the highly rated ZooMed Reptisun 5.0 linear tube in whatever length fits your applicaton.

I use two 5.0 48" tubes that span two 24x24x48" cages side by side normally. I have had good luck with the chams... but the plants die off... So I am trying a new combo... a 10.0 that is burned in and a plant tube. I am using the 10.0 because my readings for the dual 5.0's were around 15-18ish on the meter. I want to get a bit more power out of the lamp because my cages are pretty well planted and the chams can find shade easily.

I say stick with the ZooMed 5.0 if you have the lamp right on the top of the cage when using metal screen cages. If you are using the Reptariums with the plastic mesh, use a single 10.0 and elevate it a little bit. The plastic mesh blocks a lot of UVB.

This is my setup.... (its changed a bit but the lighting is the same)
