i am planning on building a DIY enclosure thats going to be 2'x2'x4' and I can't think of what to use for the floor of it. Any suggestions? I'm still undecided on whether I'm going to incorporate a drainage system.

I'm mounting my 2x2x4 onto a laundry sink. Not very pretty, but it gives me some extra height for plants, and is the perfect drainage system. I'm sure I could build a small cabinet around it to make it look good.
I used plywood but covered it with two plies of 6-mil plastic sheeting set in silicone adhesive (so it doesn't pucker or get caught on sticks). I have a drain assembly that the edge of the plastic sheet is siliconed into to create a watertight drain. This system has worked really well for me; the plastic is replaceable if it gets torn, but so far, no issues. The hardest part was coring the 2-1/2" hole for the drain in the plywood.
I built a wood frame that slopes to the center and wrapped it in shower liner. Then I hooked up a drain line to a 5 gal bucket. You can look in the drainage thread that I posted in near the end, or in my thread about my DIY enclosure. I will bump it for you

I think I'm going to go with plywood and get a small piece of laminate flooring for the top of it to protect it from the water. I can always just change it later on if I need a drainage system.
