flightless fruit flies

Coat them with supplements help a little bit. Until they get it off their feet

but that only last for a few minutes and they just crawl right on out. Swirling them around in the cup will keep them from crawling up while you are feeding but as soon as you stop they start the climb.

I don't really think you can. Those little suckers can climb anything. Even if you put tape aroudn the inside of the cup like what people do for crickets...they still climb up. I would just put the flies in the enclosure with your baby pygmy. They may not start eating just yet if he/she hatched out today

Opps I forgot I thought of another one.

This is what I did with my baby pygmies.

Find a bottle cap of sorts. Place a small piece of fruit in the cap and place inside the enclosure with the baby chams. The flies will be attracted to the fruit and the baby eventually learn where the food stays and seem to hang out in the area.

Change out the fruit often so it does not mold.

Oh i forgot about that. Thats also a good idea. But sometimes they disregard the fruit. Not all the time though:)
