Me and my girl bought a veiled 2 weeks ago from pets mart. They swore up and down that this chameleon was a male veiled. After looking at many pictures and looking at males with spurs I believe they were totally incorrect. I think this is a female veiled. ( they said since it has a veil on the head it makes them males, i just laughed at them about that since they are all called veiled..) I bought her really not knowing much about chameleons. i started with a fish aquarium and some type of dirt i bought from pets mart but switched to carpet after viewing the veiled miss a cricket and get a mouth full of dirt. After about 2 days of reading i quickly bought a 18X18X24 terrarium with good lighting and a mister. i removed the water bowl petsmart suggested for 15$>.>... I would like to post my setup and how i am handling and taking care of her so that i can better her life and let her live long and happy. Please dont be shy to ask any questions. There are no stupid questions to me. I am very basic and love learning and use what im learning. i never argue but i will always discuss. Thank you. please fill me full of knowledge.

I am new to this site, so i am not sure how to use everything yet.

Welcome to the forum- Have you found the Resources tab at the top of the page ? Sounds like you might have - It will give you a great start -
I'm thinking that most likely a lot of members might have missed your post but I'm sure a moderator will move it into the proper place - You can post your set up in the enclosure section and I'm sure you'll get some feedback

You have to scroll down and you can upload a picture if you can figure out how to use it- I tend to have problems with it.

If you haven't already, I would buy a wire cage from Kammerflage Kreations. They are a fabulous breeding company of chameleons. The cage is called a Forever cage that can be used the chameleon's whole life. They will also answer any questions that you have about owning a chameleon to make it have a nice and healthy life. :)

Do you know about feeding/gutloading the insects? Do you know that once mature the female can lay eggs without having mated? Do you have a UVB light on it? What are the temperatures?
