Depending on the concentrations d3 is usually best twice a month. Don't over give d3, so just make sure your gutload is good and don't worry about extra calcium for a few days. Yes, welcome to the world of worrying about our chams. Don't even bother to think that is a new owner thing. I have owned cham for several years and it never seems to go away.
None of mine will agree to do what I think they should all the time! Someone always takes on the job of making me stressed that they have a problem. The key is knowing when to really worry about the problem we may see. I am working on that.

i'm a new chameleon owner and i just found out i need the calcium without d3
should i feed him the d3 in the meantime while i wait for the right one to come in the mail in about 5 days
Hello, welcome to the forums.
It sounds like you are making every effort to do everything right, so I think your boy will be just fine. Personally, I'd still use the calcium with D3 every day until the plain calcium arrives, but dust very lightly.
Do you want to fill out the "How to ask for help" form so we can give you other suggestions/advice? Totally up to you, but it's always a good idea, just to be sure you've been given correct information.
Chameleon Info:
Your Chameleon - The species, sex, and age of your chameleon. How long has it been in your care?
Handling - How often do you handle your chameleon?
Feeding - What are you feeding your cham? What amount? What is the schedule? How are you gut-loading your feeders?
Supplements - What brand and type of calcium and vitamin products are you dusting your feeders with and what is the schedule?
Watering - What kind of watering technique do you use? How often and how long to you mist? Do you see your chameleon drinking?
Fecal Description - Briefly note colors and consistency from recent droppings. Has this chameleon ever been tested for parasites?
History - Any previous information about your cham that might be useful to others when trying to help you.
Cage Info:
Cage Type - Describe your cage (Glass, Screen, Combo?) What are the dimensions?
Lighting - What brand, model, and types of lighting are you using? What is your daily lighting schedule?
Temperature - What temp range have you created (cage floor to basking spot)? Lowest overnight temp? How do you measure these temps?
Humidity - What are your humidity levels? How are you creating and maintaining these levels? What do you use to measure humidity?
Plants - Are you using live plants? If so, what kind?
Placement - Where is your cage located? Is it near any fans, air vents, or high traffic areas? At what height is the top of the cage relative to your room floor?
Location - Where are you geographically located?

hallelujah to that. Ive been caring for years, i always gave my chams very careful dosages of vitamin powder, because it had vitamin A. Then 2 weeks ago, bam, i find out about herptivite and that i didnt need to put all that care in the dosage for 6 years. lol. we are always learning new things and it makes us better ownersYes, welcome to the world of worrying about our chams.
