Hi everyone

My female vield name tinny is about 6-7month old top and i noticed she look puff up kinda huge , like if she was hessing but shes not. She is just under her baskin spot chilling but this makes me think its time to lay some eggs, now there some dirt in the botton of her cage but its just 2 inches deep... what should i do?

if you think shes gravid you need to get her a laying bin so that she can lay if she has to

you gotta leave her in there for a bit and then give her privacy so that shes by her self

aldo the dirt needs to be more then 2 inchs deep it needs to be in a bucket that has at least 12 inches of dirt init

Is she.digging at the dirt in the cage and becoming more active roaming towards the bottom? I just got a new cage for my female and can easily slide her bin in when she's ready.

She may also be flattening herself to acquire as much heat as possible under the basking area.

Thanks to everyone comment i shall do this right now give me one second and ill post some pictures up as well

Hi Shineru, I'd strongly recommend the following blogs/threads as they all contain fantastic info regarding female veiled's and laying.

Jannb's blogs: JannB's blog

Dez's laying bin setup video: Dez's video

David Buchan's care sheet: care sheet

I wish you the best of luck.

Your little girl is growing up, but I don't think she looks gravid. The purple looks great!
The last few pictures are 'stress' patterns and she is all puffed up to look dangerous........ if she puffs up like this to bask it's just to get as warm as she can. She usually won't be those patterns while basking, right?
