Female Veiled very restless

 I posted yesterday about my female veiled possibly going to lay eggs soon. She does have a laying bin in her cage now.

Last week I bought a baby male veiled chameleon since we had a whole set up since we moved our female into a bigger cage.

It just crossed my mind that even though they are in different cages their cages are pretty close together and since we have had him she has been very antsy, wanting to come out of her cage, ALOT, and isn't eating as much.

Could his cage being close where she can see him trigger her like this? Should I move him? He is an itty bitty baby but I assume she could know he is male.

Any help would be much appreciated. We don't know exactly how old she is but I would say 8 months to a year and we have had her since she was tiny.

Yes, if they can see each other it can cause stress. I keep cages close together but I use black painter's plastic so the chams can't see each other. It is cheap and can be found at any hardware store. You can either tape it on or use adhesive clips.

Otherwise you would need to move the cages to locations where there is no way they can see each other.
