Female Veiled Update

Recently, I posted a forum asking questions about my female veiled chameleon, Kiwi. She was having a lot of health issues including runny poo, lethargic, and no appetite. Since then, I discovered that she had a hard bump on her lower back so she was definitely bearing eggs. I took her to the vet only to discover the poor girl had WAY more eggies than the norm (approximately 32 eggs) and they were depleting all of her calcium. In the x-ray you could literally see the bones deteriorating. She is put on some calcium shots and a liquid diet. She will be induced to lay her eggs sometime next week.

Basically I'm only posting this as an update from my previous post and to urge people to PLEASE visit a veterinarian instead of "waiting it out." I never want to know what would have happened if I didn't bring her.

Actually they can literally have up to 70+ eggs, That's why it is important to lower their heat, and food intake to keep this number down as much as possible. And also why it is of utmost importance to stay up with the supplementation. Glad you are getting her taken care off. Good luck to you, and her.
