Female veiled not eating and preggo

She is almost 2 years old and is on her 3rd clutch (non fertile). She usually is all over the terrarium, digging, and exploring for a place to bury her eggs. This time is totally different. She has been very lethargic, and refuses to eat anything. It has been almost 2 weeks and she still hasn't eaten anything. She is very visibly fat from the eggs, but her tail and legs are very skinny. I have a laying bin, but still nothing. I am really worried about her, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Any suggestions?

If she is acting lethargically, I think it's time for a vet. As soon as females start acting listless it's usually a medical emergency and only a vet will get her to lay those eggs and pull through.

She will probably need a shot of calcium (Calcium is crucial in muscle contractions) and a shot of Oxytocin (the "love hormone" responsible for uterine contractions) and that will help her lay the eggs. Because if she's acting weak she may not be able to lay them on her own.

Good luck!

I followed your advice. You were spot on! The vet gave her a shot of calcium, then another shot of oxytocin(spelling?). She is doing better, but still lethargic and egg bound. I have been mixing water & Gerber baby food(beef) and syringe feeding her in hopes that she turns around, gets energy, and lays her eggs. Will keep you posted. Again, thanks for the help!:(
