female veiled dropping eggs?

i found 2 yellow and one white egg in the bottom of her cage but she has not layed yet, her laying bin is in there and all she does is sit at the top of the cage. Could she have just dropped a few because of having too many. She was bred on june 1st.

Although I have heard of the odd veiled dropping eggs and going on to lay the rest of them properly most of the time its because there is a problem.

Has she not dug at all? How long has the laying bin been in the cage?

That has happened to me with one of my females. She dropped 5 yellow eggs, then several days later dug a hole and laid properly although not deeply. She had 58 eggs she laid. It is anyone's guess, but I think those last ones just weren't right and 58 was all she had properly incubated. Anyway, the 5 molded and the rest are perfect.

the laying bin has been in there for about 2 weeks but she wont go near it, I hope she will go on and lay soon. I have a 3 gallon bucket in her cage and it is 50/50 sand and top soil. She just sits in the top, she also quit eating about 2 days ago.

I had a similar experience withmy female panther. Her first clutch after mating she dropped 21 eggs on the bottom of her cage over the course of a week. Luckily she never got eggbound and is doing great now. The 2nd time around when I could tell she was ready to lay, I got some sphagnum moss from home depot, put it in a plastic bag and ran hot water from the tap into the bag. I then poured out the excess water and placed the moss loosely across the entire top of the egg laying bin. I did this just after her lights had gone out and made sure she was not in the bin so as not to disturb her. The next day she dug under the moss, made her tunnel then layed and buried her eggs. I also usually cover the front of her cage with sheet when I know she is ready to start digging.

I had left the moss ontop of the soil/sand in her laying bin and she has had 3 problem free clutches since then.
