:( , I havent posted here yet i dont beleive, that or its been so long i cant remember.

Yesterday i fed and watered my chams as normal, they drank, they ate, just like normal. Then last night outta the blue my bigger female of about 1.5 years is laying on her belly in the potted pothos she has and is a lemon like pale color which was around 5pm i get them started around 8am so not even 12 hours. Shes still mean at this point as usual.

I keep an eye on her and she nudges up against the roots and goes to sleep.

Im panicing all night with a flashlight checking on her like every 1/2 hour. she doesnt seem to get any worse i get some minimal sleep.

The next day i find her close to the edge of the pot same color, eyes sunken in. Dehydration i think, but she drank and ate normally and in a normal color just yesterday. Shes also not waking up eyes are closed.

I run out to get some supplies for the crickets to ensure theyre plenty hydrated plus a seringe like object to force her some water, i also started some homemade electrolyte. Before the water cooled off she had passed.

In under 2 days she went from good to dead. Does anyone have some idea of what this might have been?

She was housed in a 65 gallon flexarium, no argument to eat unless my arm was still in the way, crickets are fed dandelion and collard greens with flukers quencher and dry gutload, dusted regularly as needed with calcium, bulbs are relatively new maybe a month?

Dehydration gets pretty nasty and advanced before death occurs. Did she show any signs of sunken eyes discoloured droppings? Before she acted lethargic?. With her age id have to say egg bound is a possibility. Did she lay eggs ever? she may have looked to the plant pot as a last attempt to lay but was to late. Does her belly look full or bulky? A vet may be able to look at her and give u a better idea. I guess proper burial and review of husbandry requirements and start over :(

In any case its horribly unfortunate and it makes me sad thinking about it.. :(

Impaction can also arise suddenly and take our babies quickly. Maybe make sure soil is covered with fine mesh or rocks large enough to not be eaten. If u havent already, as a future precaution.

The sunken eyes came over night, I had her in my hands and started feeling her abdomen region for eggs if i had to even guess id say there was one in there and or just an organ i thought felt like one. I too guessed egg bound but for about the last 2 weeks shes had her robin egg blue markings glowing so ive been prepping for mating as i have/had 2 females and 1 male veiled , all three from different blood lines all of about the same age as a project so ive watched them grow and studied researched plenty in the last 2 years i thought i was doing everything right. She had never laid eggs before tho, neither of them have, now i worry for my other one. All have the green felt liner thing on the bottoms that i can remove and wash out. I literally had her out yesterday and have dated pics on my phone of her in a normal green state and then deceased in her yellowey pale color.
