female veiled colors

Is it rare for a female veiled has some black coloring coming in on her casque. Also my veiled has never turned brown or completely black, is this good?

Could you post a pic of the casque so we can see? Or maybe you could describe it a little better. How black is it? How big is the blackened area?

A lot of time when you hear this it is often a burn do to a heat source being to close or accessible. Is this possible?

I just don't think we have enough information from the original post to really assume that we know what it is. It very well could be normal black spots showing up in her pattern on her casque... but it concerned the poster enough for them to come here and ask about it. If it is just normal coloring we can determine that in a quick question answer session, or even faster with a pic. Not saying that you couldn't be right here Malicious. Just saying, I would be nervous telling someone black coloration on their chameleon is normal before you have all the info on their case, When it very well could be something else that needs attention.

Your correct Joe. I should have asked for a picture before making that statement. I took a risk, assuming that the OP would be able to tell a burn over a color marking. I realized that after, therefore I posted a picture for him or her to inform us weather or not it was similar to what is shown in the photo. Since the OP has not responded to my reply there isnt much that can be done. I will chock this up as a lesson, and prevent situations like it in the future. My appoligies.

No apologies necessary Jay. I was hoping they would respond to your photo. I hope I didn't sound like a prick...lol. It is not to uncommon for people to post pictures of burned chams, and they had no idea it was a burn. There are also bruises, fungi, and other conditions that can cause blackening.

i never heard of black burns unless the chameleon couldn't feel it and got crispy. my female shows a small amount of black at the base of her casque( or the little flaps they have) and it is getting blacker as she ages.

That is just part of her pattern. My Female actually showed more and more of the kind of features as she matured. Nothing to worry about. Jay was right... That is completely normal.

Osang's casque has darkened in several areas since that photo was taken, and looks stunning!:)

Honestly Joe, I didn't take offence to your comments, nor felt you were trying to be rude in anyway. I am just glad were all on the same page now.;)
