Hi there I have a female veiled chameleon, she is about 8 months old, she was doing very wel, very active, ate very well. All the sudden she started losing her balance, became weak, she will try to grab on things that aren't there. She had a black mark on her side and so I tried hand feeding he ancouple crickets that were completely covered in calcium + D3, and a rapashi multivitamin powder. It has dissappeared since and she is a little more active but today she won't eat and hasn't been drinking anything. I need to help on what I should do to try and help her recover if I can. If there's any information that could help you guys give me advice let me know I will supply it. Thank you.

Nina is a female veiled chameleon, she is about 8 months old she has been in my care for just over 4 months now. She comes out ever 3 or 4 days to get a little excersize and some real sunlight if It is sunny out. I feed her 5 or so crickets per day, and a mealworn or 2 also. I sprinkle exo terra calcium+D3 powder On her food ever 3rd feeding swell as repashi multivitamin everytime I do the calcium.I have a drip system that goes an a big leaf so she can catch it rolling down. She hasn't been tested for parasites unless the petstores had done it. Her poops have been slowly been getting less often and quite a bit larger.
Cage: she has currently a 24x18x24 exo-terra terrarium. I know it's small for her, I was buying her a giant cabinet for her until she got sick. Cabinet is 41x24x56. But it's not finished and she isn't in it yet. She has a UVB and UVA bulbs, also a nIght light. Her temp is night low of 75, and her cage is normally about 85 average during the day. Have a fogged on all the time to keep cage moist and still mist by bottle twice a day. It's sits at about 70% on average. The cagE is located in my bedroom which is in my basement. Very low traffic area just me in and Out a couple times a day. Unfortunately I live in Calgary, AB which sucks because it's incredibly dry all year round, extremely cold in the winters and hot in the summers.

get her to a vet asap. sounds like mbd to me. after the vet you need to up your calcium to plain phos free calcium every feeding. your d3 twice a month and your multi twice a month.
second thought. does she have a lay bin? is she swollen?
she needs hydro....maybe give her a shower chamber.

Ok, you will need to make some changes. Most people on the forum dust feeders with calcium with d3 twice a month, every 2 weeks and the same with the multivitamin, alternating. And then use a phosphorous free calcium without d3 at almost every feeding. I use Rep-cal and herptivite multivitamin. You don't need a night heat source unless your temps are below 60. Then you are better off with a ceramic heater that doesn't put off any light. They need a 10 degree drop at night and are better off without lights on. 85 should be her basking temp and mid to low 70's throughout the rest of the cage. Hope this helps. I also wanted to mention that the reptisun 5.0 tube style is most recomended, second choice being reptiglo. The coil type uvb lights have been known to cause some eye damage in the past. I avoid them just to be safe, even though they supposedly improved them. The bulbs also need to be relaced about every six months or so, because the uvb output wears out. I really hope your cham improves, please keep us posted on her health.
