Hi, is it normal for a female veiled to go off her food while gravid?? Finding it hard to get the calcium into her, shes not interested in locusts or crickets, but will have the odd mealie and wax worm? Not great. Any ideas? Thanks.

Some females won't eat as much while gravid. It could be that she is close to laying, or it could be that she just doesn't have the room for a lot of food. It is all individual- some girls will eat a TON while gravid while others may not eat at all. Just keep offering food to her (not mealworms or waxworms, though.) Silkworms would be great. Even gutloaded supers would be good. Keep her hydration up and maybe give her extra mistings. They need a lot more water while forming eggs.

On a side note, morning sickness? :D Try offering food to her at different times of the day. Also try before and after misting her. Maybe she is too full of water at times to want food?

If you can get her to gape easily, go buy some liquid calcium (calcium glubionate I think is the right one) and fill a needleless or plastic curved tip syringe with it. Give her a few drops every day or every other day.
