Hi, my young female carpet chameleon shed on Friday for the first time in my care. I haven't handled her much as she's pretty shy so I have given her time to settle since getting her about three weeks ago. However, when I went to pick her up on Thursday she was REALLY angry with me! She was showing no signs that she was about to shed, and I had to move her so I persisted. Before this she's given a couple of hisses on occasion, but nothing like this. Once I got hold of her she calmed down and when I moved her back into her tank she was back to normal, but she was pretty scary for a three-inch baby!
She is the first female I've had, so was this behaviour related to her being about to shed? Or just a coincidence? I'd like to avoid a repeat performance!
