I have been attempting to breed one of my female ambilobes for a few weeks with no luck. She has laid a fertile clutch before and is about 13 months old. I have been pairing her with Remy, he has a fertile clutch incubating as we speak, and things appear to go well. I have left them together a number of times in the last few weeks, they do their thing and I separate him after a few hours or sometimes the next day.
She has been receptive each time and he is eager, but in the end she does not become gravid. I am at a loss as to what is going on. I know it does not always happen on the first try, but after 6-8 attempts I would expect success. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
