Feeling the Pain!!!

I figured I'd post it here. I have to say I'm Sorry!! to my little guys and gals that I recently sold. I'm extremely sad but I had to.

As some know I am a local brev breeder in the Southern California area. I use to run a couple breeding colonies ranging between 1.2-1.5. As my lease ended in my townhouse I had to move. I stayed in the same area, and although a house, my room is way smaller. (I live with friends). I had to cut down on a couple colonies because I also have other animals in my room. Really sad but it was a must. I still have 2 colonies running. A 1.4 in a 18x18x24 and a 1.2 in a 12x12x18 left. The ones I sold were mostly WC's that I was using to get a little more diversity. They went to good homes and I'm sure they will be well taken care of. I still have first picks to the babies if they ever have any. :D That;s a plus. I may add more colonies once I settle in and figure out how to get the most of of this new room. This goes out to them. May they live happy and always remember me!! :)

I feel your pain, the only down part of having babies is not being able to keep each and every one - but I sure would like too.:)

Yeah my last clutch was a little hard to sell. I was being extremely picky and wouldn't go lower than 40 for each. They were beautiful 3rd generation CB chams. I find the same problem with my Sand Boas. I have had two clutches that I had to sell to wholesale buyers. Not bad though as they tend to drop between 10-20 babies.

I never even thought of that, just concerned they could all go to good homes when I breed them......this is going to be harder than I thought........

Yeah, thats the sad reality of CB Pygmies. Most people aren't willing to spend $40-50 on a nice CB when they can get a WC for $25-30 from a local pet shop. Even the local pet shops won't buy them for more than $20 so they can make a profit. The only way the price of these little guys will go up and a surge for CB will take place is when they are endangered and no longer importable.

they are so easy to breed as it is I don't see why they don't cut down teh import numbers....we dont NEED to be importing that many!!
