Hi All,

I'm very new to all this. I took a chameleon off a friend of mine who seems to have a new pet every week. I'm not sure what he was feeding him but I wanted to do it properly.

I started by putting black crickets in the viv but a girl at the pet shop said they can stress them so have cleared them all out. bought some hoppers and waxworms. For the last two days i've been feeding him 5 crickets in a cup tried the blacks again but he isn't interested at all.(was told he could get ill if he picks up bedding).

Is it safe to just feed him hoppers and the occasional waxworm? How many should i feed him? everyday / otherday?

Thanks,

check out Brad's site. Read through it all and then feel free to ask some questiones if you are still feeling lost. (this is of course if you have veiled... or a panther chameleon.)

Ya want to mix up his feeders... wax worms are too fatty for a normal everyday feeder. And no, ya don't want too much food in his cage, it will bother him. Just feed him a few at a time till he consumes them all. and you shouldn't have a substrate... remember these animals live in the trees.... so they won't see the ground very often.

What kind of lights and caging do you have?
