Feeding every other day?

My male veiled at 5 1/2 months is slowing a bit to about 8-12 a day depending in size. So I suspect to put him on every other day by 6 1/2 to 7 months.. Imo

When they stop eating anything you offer with gusto every single day. :)

Some species, that's at about 6 months or so of eating heartily every day. For others, they may keep eating like pigs daily and growing like weeds for the first year. It depends on your chameleon and your prey items. A large cham that eats a couple pinkies can probably skip eating for a day or two, a baby that's only eating crickets should be offered food daily.

What age do you start feeding ur Cham every other day?

You never HAVE to. What you're aiming for is to simply not overfeed / make it fat. So you reduce quantity and or frequency accordingly - and many animals will do that for themselves. Over feeding is less likely until after it is an adult (around a year old). So that's when some people stop feeding daily. I feed my adults about 6 days a week.

Many females will eat whatever you offer whenever you offer it! They can be sooo greedy! Having said that, Amy naturally started eating less at 6 months old. Monty, my juvi Jackson, stopped eating every day a few weeks ago at about 8 months. Jacksons grow a lot slower than Veileds though! :D

My panther chameleon is 6 months old and he has just been put in his adult size cage.

Since I have done this his eating has slowed so much. I'm feeding crickets with the odd mealworm and wax worm

It realy depends on your individule goals. Jethro my 200+gram ambilobe is set on his superworms, He gets 2 every other day..Due to there fat content.Controlling there fat intake is the goal.Mortimer my 11month nosybe is a stuborne eater and will only eat every2-3 days or so. He is offered 5-8 crickets every other day.And left overs must be removed at night or he wont eat at all.A female ambilobe im trying to slow egg production on might get 2 crickets every other day.And when producing eggs, get feed 10-15 per day. When I kept Veilds They all ate somthing everyday As they ate vegies too .Each cham has diffrent eating desires and needs.

It could be partly that the large cage means he takes longer to find the food / is settling in still. You might Consider also adding better variety to his diet.
