Faly Coloration: a discussion

Texas Ranger--

How long have you had your WC faly's? If you have had them for a long time, the idea that the yellow fades on all WC can be disregarded

The recent history of Faly in the wild is complicated and a label alone does not necessarily prove one theory over another. I've read that the area was artificially populated with other locales, which might explain some issues. When did the Faly locale become popular? Do we have source photos from before that date?

True true-- the earliest I seem to find reference to (as Oorena Mena) is babies hatching in the end of 2007-- meaning the imported ones would be from early 2007. PamsChams and Screameleons would be the source, though I'm not sure on photos

I make my gutload just like anyone else most if not all of the dry seed, grain ect. and have no commercial interest in selling or marking it in any way I make it for my bugs and chams and thats it.

Yes this is true but the UK has been working with them a few years longer you can search and see and I remember back in 2005 when I was just working with geckos on guy I knew had a 3.3 of Nosy falys he was working on breeding and did good with it from what I remember.

Crosses aside, you did say that the "color is coming back"--

is there a special color enhancer you feed (in your dry mix) that maybe not everyone uses. Ie- those found in superpig?

~

No I use no superpig at all I just don't trust that stuff. And no special color enhancers either. Just good heathy stuff for the bugs and chams....

I can check with him .. but I am willing to bet it was good old film type pics that I would have to go get scanned to post up. If he has any. He was the one who helped me pick out the first male wc faly I got because he was almost a twin to his Fav. Faly Male he had the only difference was his male had two really big red spots on each shoulder....
