hi everyone, i have had my new baby/juvenile veiled girl (lola) for eight days. everything seems to be going well, except:
she closes her eyes when she is handled out of her cage. (i know handling is to be avoided.) i've been watching her carefully in the cage and she does not close her eyes when she is in there. she just closes them if i take her out of the cage (opening them periodically), and then reopens them and is normal again if i put her back in.

is this a stress response? i'm guessing so but just wonder if anyone else has seen this because i didn't find any posts on it.
