Hi all! Does anyone here have feedback/experience/etc. about the Exo Terra Sunray light? The last post I saw here is from 2013.
I've been considering it for my Veiled due to the fact that he is in a 36x18x36 enclosure so not only will the UVB reach far down into the tank, but should penetrate through a lot of the foliage he hides in, too. And it seems easier having an "all-in-one" (heat, UVB, general light) bulb. The latest book I bought on chams raves about the metal halide bulbs being the closest duplication to natural sunlight and the bulbs also last much longer. Here is a photo of his enclosure so you get a better idea of his setup.
I guess what I'm most concerned about is can a Cham get too much UVB? The other option I was thinking of was to keep the current heat lamp and add the double linear 36" UVB fixture to the top (example below).
But not sure if the 5.0 or 10.0 would be best considering the depth of the terrarium and the fact his tree provides so much "shade." And should I use 1 UVB and 1 regular bulb OR two UVB's? He currently has his heat lamp and 2 5.0 UVB's.
There is waaaay to much information I'm finding and it all says something different. (Sorry in advance if there is a more recent post on this and feel free to direct me to it if there is.)
